Brainstorming about names
When we brainstormed about the name, it seems the orientation of the project would be more about ping/monitor/perform health check than report the status of the sites. We then generated a synthwave and cyberpunk inspired list.
Ping/monitor/perform health check names
- StatusHub
- PulseMonitor
- SystemTracker
- ServiceWatch
- HealthCheckr
- SiteScope
- StatusMate
- OpsAlert
- MonitorMe
- CheckPoint
Synthwave / cyberpunk names
- NeonStatus
- CyberPulse
- SynthWatch
- RetroStatus
- WaveCheck
- CyberScope
- PulseWave
- SynthScope
- NightWatch
- CyberMate
ServPulse
The Serv part can refer to both server and services.
The Pulse word conveys a sense of real-time monitoring and alerts, which is a core function of a status page application. Pulse refers to a real-time heartbeat / status.
The combination of the two, ServPulse, has the advantage to be unique as software name. That name conveys monitoring, life, constant awareness.
It was an hapax on a Google search when we started this project, but now, a UK company registered under the same name 2025-04-15.
A motto could be “See the heartbeat of your services. Stay ahead of incidents. Own your status.”
